As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, Electronic Network Cash Tellers, Inc. (ENCASH) joined hands with the Mindanao Alliance Self-Help Societies – Southern Philippines Educational Cooperative Center (MASS-SPECC) in bringing help to the victims of Typhoon Sendong in Cagayan de Oro. ENCASH donated P100,000 which was used to provide meals for lunch and dinner for 700 internally displaced persons from Isla de Oro who evacuated to the City Central School & Cala-cala, Macasandig. This assistance started last December 21, 2011.
ENCASH and MASS-SPECC still continue to provide meals for 500 internally displaced persons from Macanhan, Carmen in CdO.
“The devastation wrought by Typhoon Sendong in Cagayan de Oro and in Iligan could not be ignored,” said ENCASH President Eric Severino. “We were glad when MASS- SPECC approached us because it meant that through their office, we could reach the victims immediately.”
Through MASS-SPECC’s cooperative affiliates in Cagayan de Oro and Iligan, funds and goods were also provided to the victims.
