For 2011, Electronic Network Cash Tellers, Inc. (ENCASH), the Philippines’ first independent ATM deployer, will implement projects geared towards giving back to the communities where its ATMs are deployed.
ENCASH started the year by collaborating with one of its new partners, Camalig Bank, to help alleviate the adverse effects of the flood in Camalig, Albay last December 2010. In coordination with The Camalig Bank Foundation, ENCASH donated Triple-14 fertilizers, palay (rice) seedlings and medicines to 30 farmers of Barangays Sua, Anoling and Quirangay last February 19, 2011. This event was witnessed by Camalig Mayor Carlos Irwin Baldo, Jr.
ENCASH President Eric J. Severino said, “As part of ENCASH’s corporate social responsibility, we will engage the communities where our ATMs are deployed so that we can promote social, economic and environmental development.”
Another project that was implemented by the company last March 1, 2011 is its first loyalty cardholder promo called, ENCASH Pangkabuhayan Promo. The promo which will run for 12 months, entitles users of ENCASH ATMs to an electronic raffle where they can win as much as P10,000 for 3 quarters. For the Grand Raffle Draw which will be held on March 2012, the company is giving away 2 Kawasaki Barako motorcycles.
According to Mr. Severino, this promo is designed to help Cardholders who would like to start their own little businesses like a sari-sari store or a tricycle service. He opined, “Most of our ATMs are located in rural areas, where jobs are scarce. Having a business such as a sari-sari store or a tricycle that will transport people will be a big help for our cardholder.”
In the long term, Mr. Severino sees more projects similar to these that will help develop the economic and environmental needs of ENCASH’s communities.
